Hannah Ellicott is a textile designer specialising in contemporary print.
Her work is inspired by modern concepts of engineering, an exploration of innovation based materials and a desire to push traditional textile practices to new boundaries. She uses skills of hand-drawing artwork, screen-printing and digital processes to create unique, colourful pieces. A key focus of her designs is the consideration of placement and composition, blending geometric pattern work with free-hand pen and ink motifs.
Hannah’s Final Major Project evolved around the idea of flight, influenced by the mechanics of the modern jet engine and aeroplane structures. Using the geometric patterns found within these subjects she has created a final collection comprised of digital prints, interchangeable 3D pattern modules and uniquely authentic aeroplane art pieces, designed to take the idea of interior print to new forms.
